You should check with both manufacturers for compatibility. In the past, they were not but that may have changed. The controller itself will not fit inside the valve box, it is however shipped with a wall mount that can be attached to the side of the valve box with screws. Good luck!

The pic here doesn't show the needed 5 pairs of wires connected to the timer. Were they photoshopped out? Does this timer come with all the wires needed?

Yep, it actually has 6 pairs of wires, four for the lateral lines, one for the master valve (if you plan to use a master valve), and one pair for the rain sensor. I don't know why they photoshopped them out as well. I guess it makes it look a bit unsightly with all the wires hanging out. Works well though and seems dependable so far. Cheers, John
