The Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor 7 uses Z-Wave, so it is not compatible with Zigbee. It can only work with Z-Wave compatible devices. If you want the device to work with other devices, you need to contact the manufacturer to check its compatibility. The device works well when installed correctly, and its battery life can last up to three years. However, several customers had trouble with the product. It goes offline frequently, and the battery tends to drain faster than expected. Some customers found that the device failed to recognize the close state, even with a stronger magnet. One customer found it difficult to connect the device with Home Assistant. The plastic used for the device is cheap. Based on feedback, the Aeotec Recessed Door Sensor 7 may not be the best option for people seeking reliable door sensors.
