Question : How long do these batteries hold power in storage?
Answer : Each AA rechargeable battery holds power up to 12 months in storage.
Question : What is the capacity of each battery?
Answer : The product description did not provide information on the capacity.
Question : Does the package come with a battery charger?
Answer : No, the package does not include a battery charger.
Question : Why are these batteries rated at 1.2v instead of 1.5v like all disposable batteries are?
Answer : Chemistry. Alkaline and lithium disposable batteries are 1.5V because that is the electric pressure of the reaction. NiMH rechargeables are always 1.2V and NiZn rechargeables are always 1.6V for the same reason. What matters more is the physics!
Question : Is the more mAh on a battery the better it will be?
Answer : Higher mAh is beneficial with devices that are high-drain. For regular devices, the standard battery gives better performance. For high drain devices, the high performance battery gives better performance.
Question : Do these come charged or do you have to charge them before use?
Answer : My 8 batteries had 66% charge remaining and were manufactured 5 months prior to my test. Your mileage will vary depending on when your batteries were manufactured.
Question : Can these be left on the charger 24/7 or should I remove them after a full charge?
Answer : I went on vacation for six weeks and forgot to take my energizer AA rechargeable batteries off the charger before I left. When I returned, there were no fires. Batteries were cool to the touch. And yes, they still work. Should you make a habit of leaving them on the charger? Absolutely not. Is it okay if you do? Well, these four year old batteries survived six weeks of constant charging without any 'serious' damage.
Question : Does anyone know the discharge rating on these, how much current can they put out (not asking for mAh). What is the C rate?
Answer : Energizer's data sheet shows that they can do at least 2C (4.6A for ~20min). The 2300mAh rating is based on a 0.2C (460mA) discharge rate.
Question : Will 2400mAh work for 1800mAh?
Answer : Under the same load, a higher number will last longer. In the case of standard batteries, there is no issue of size, so yes, it will work and will last almost 50% longer.
Question : Where are these batteries made?
Answer : When I looked at some packs in store, they all said 'made in Japan' on the back.
Question : Can I charge these on my Energizer 15 minute charger?
Answer : You 'could' recharge them in a 15 minute charger but it isn't recommended to do it all the time, as it reduces the life of the battery when charged at too high of a rate.
Question : What year were these made?
Answer : I got a package of two for $10.00 at ace hardware; I have looked all over the packaging and have not seen any kind of date or even code for these batteries.
Question : Is the more mAh on a battery the better it will be?
Answer : The mAh number of a battery is a measure of the amount of energy stored in it. It has nothing to do with the 'quality' of the battery or whether one is 'better' than another.
