  Answer : There will be a reduction of Silica, but not a complete removal.
• Question : Hey Whirlpool per your owners manual this unit will not remove sediment, so why are you claiming it does?
  Answer : I agree- false advertising. The only performance claims listed is reduction in chlorine. Yet the advertising claims sediment.
• Question : Does this unit affect the water pressure?
  Answer : Anytime that you install some type of filtration into your plumbing there will be a small change in the water pressure. For this water softener, the pressure drop at the rated service flow is 6.5 psig.
• Question : I want a water softener & iron/chlorine removal system, what unit am I looking for?
  Answer : This one is pretty good. Maybe a good option for you.
• Question : How different is this compared to those expensive ecowater units? I had a sales rep quoting for $8000 with ecowater.
  Answer : $8000 sounds like a ripoff unless you own a hotel.
• Question : With all the mixed reviews, does this unit actually filter chlorine etc?
  Answer : Our unit does not filter chlorine.
• Question : I have an existing water softener installed outside, and it has worked well for many years. Is this unit able to be installed outside as well?
  Answer : I enclosed mine in one of those like rubbermaid trash can sheds.
• Question : I want to replace my Sears water softener. Are there any reasons why I can't put it outside?
  Answer : I don't think there would be a problem as long as the electrical is weatherproof.
• Question : Does it come with salt or potassium?
  Answer : No, but I use Morton nugget salt, and it contains potassium.
• Question : What do you do if you don't have a ground drain? My nearest standing pipe drain is across the room and would be 47 feet of pex to get to.
  Answer : The maximum horizontal run that a drain line can run is 30 feet. If there is any way to relocate the softener closer to the drain so that the run is within that 30 foot limit, that would be best. If not, you may need to drain the water into some type of sump and then use a pump to pump it the rest of the way over to the drain.
