• Question : What are the handles and ferrules made of?
  Answer : The handles are made of polished birch wood, and the ferrules are made of high-grade copper with chrome plating.
• Question : Are these real kolinsky sable brushes?
  Answer : Well, that is a really good question, I bought them wondering the same thing. I am not sure what they are, but if they are really kolinsky sable then they just aren't made very well, a well made brush wouldn't shed as much as these do. These brushes are great for young artists who might smash them or forget them in the water, or like me I wasn't sure if I wanted to invest in really good brushes. In retrospect I would recommend investing a little more in a couple of higher end brushes, like a #8 and #1 and maybe a wash brush to save time wetting the paper. You can do a lot with just those 3.
