Answer : It can dye up to two pounds of fiber, depending on the depth of shade.
  • Question : What is the difference between acid dyes or reg RIT clothing dyes?

Jacquard F-JAC1607 Dyes Editorial Review

The Jacquard Acid Dye in Aztec Gold has received mixed reviews from customers. Some have had success using the dye, achieving vibrant and long-lasting colors on various fabrics, such as silk, wool, feathers, and nylon. They found that the dye held well after washing and had good color saturation. One customer even used it to dye a thrifted Pendleton sweater, intentionally making it darker to cover stains, and was pleased with the result. However, there are also negative experiences shared by customers. One user found that they needed to use more of the acid dye compared to regular RIT clothing dyes to achieve the promised color, and the dye ended up clumpy and uneven during the dyeing process. Another customer was disappointed with the small size of the bottle, as it contained less than half an ounce of dye even though the product description stated 5 ounces. In terms of compatibility, the dye is recommended for use on silk, wool, feathers, and nylon. Customers have also successfully used it on polyester and synthetic fibers like tulle by adjusting the amount of dye used. However, there are uncertainties about using the dye on already dyed leather, as the effects of hot water on the material are unknown. Overall, if used correctly and on recommended fabrics, the Jacquard Acid Dye can produce beautiful and vibrant results. However, some users have experienced issues with Consistency, clumping, and inaccurate product descriptions, which may deter potential buyers.

Pros

  • Vibrant and long-lasting colors on various fabrics
  • Holds well after washing
  • Can cover stains and imperfections on garments
  • Compatible with silk, wool, feathers, and nylon

Cons

  • InConsistent results compared to regular RIT clothing dyes
  • Dye may clump and be uneven during the dyeing process
  • Inaccurate product description in terms of size and color
  • Uncertain compatibility with already dyed leather
