The Attwood 8896LP6 Acetal 38-Inch Barb Fuel Hose Female Tank Fitting is a product designed to automate fuel delivery from a gas tank to a marine outboard motor. It has an impressive build quality and fits perfectly with Yamaha 40 hp outboard motors. However, it may not be compatible with other outboard motors from different manufacturers, for instance, the 1980's Honda BF75 (7.5 hp 4 stroke) and the 2016 40hp Tohatsu outboard. The internal ID of the hose fitting may also be too large for some older Honda outboard motors, and this can cause air to be sucked into the fuel line, which upsets fuel delivery, making it unsuitable for such motors. The product is also limited to the tank to motor connection, unlike other fuel hose fittings that can be used on both the tank and motor ends. In conclusion, the Attwood 8896LP6 Acetal 38-Inch Barb Fuel Hose Female Tank Fitting is an excellent product for Yamaha 40hp motors, but it may not be efficient for other outboard motor manufacturers.
