I bought mine in February & I’m only now thinking about getting another replacement. My dog is 70lbs and her nails grow fast! Use it appx every 3 weeks if that gives u a better idea how long it lasts.

- Question : Are these coarse or fine?Answer : Rather than saying coarse or fine, I would say they are appropriate to file down your dog’s nails. I use this on my 8 pound Pom and my 7 pound chihuahua. They are both just fine with me using it to file their nails. They never, may I repeat never, let me get near them with the doggy nail clippers. They would do the little back up dance. The grinding stone is durable.
- Question : How do you replace the head?Answer : Remove the plastic nail guard (pull straight up on it), then grasp the grinding head & pull straight up on that as well.
