Unlikely as eagles and falcons are carnivorous. They DO hunt other birds, but usually from the ground.

I don’t know specifically about thistle seed but it works great for other small seeds. You can return it if it doesn’t work

I attach the 1/2-inch covers on a tooth thing-- Sunstar GUM Proxabrush Go-Betweens. Adds just enough to the perch for small bird

Can u use thistel feed? Do the ports flip open and close to allow thistel and regular course feed?

I think the holes are too large for thistle. No, the ports don't open and close; the top lifts high enough to let you pour seed into the tube. I use a mix of black oil sunflower and other small seeds (but larger than thistle). The one negative I have about this feeder is that it's hard to keep clean: the bottom doesn't come off and you have to use a very long, narrow brush to clean it.

Is there a seed tray that is compatible with this feeder? Looking for the kind of tray that attaches to the bottom of the feeder to catch the mess.

I make a homemade tray for mine. I use a soldering iron to punch a hole on both sides. Then I stick a piece of clothes hanger through. I then take a plastic plate and using two zip ties, attach the plates to the feeder. Works like a charm.

Will doves eat from this? Trying to get something they won’t eat out of because they empty my platform feeder in minutes

Too small for doves - the perches are even a bit too small for the little birds to sit comfortably. It's a well made feeder, but I won't buy another one.
