The user has not noticed any lag when using this with both Torque Pro app and the OBDlink app. The Bluetooth connect of this device works much better than the cheaper ones.

Is data stored on the device if no connection is made to the app? If so, will it download when the app connects?

No, there is no storage on the ScanTool device. All logs are stored on your phone in a folder as CSV files.

Does it work for w202 1994 38 pin if I used the 38 pin obdi to 16 pin obdii diagnostic adapter connector cable?

It is hard to tell, as it is necessary to compare the protocol that your ECU talks to the ones that ScanTool supports. If your car is OBD1, trying to adapt an OBD2 scanner to it is like using a Windows 10 x64 PC and pretending it will connect to and run programs from an old XP, as they are two different protocols/platforms.

Why does this not work on hybrid or full electric vehicles?

This device can be used for fully electric vehicles, and it works perfectly. The incompatibility refers to their app and not to the actual dongle unit itself. Use evnotify to extract all your information and you will be fine.

The ScanTool OBDLink LX Bluetooth OBD-II Scanner is a Bluetooth-based vehicle diagnostic tool that is suitable for use with Android and Windows-based devices.
