    Answer : Yes, BlueDriver works with all cars and light trucks sold in the United States since 1996.
  • Question : Do I need to pay any subscription fees or add-ons?
    Answer : No, one purchase gets you everything you need with no in-app fees or add-ons.
  • Question : Is there any support available?
    Answer : Yes, BlueDriver provides 24/7 professional support through phone or in-app chat.
  • Question : Do you only hook up to it when check engine is on or it stays plugged in?
    Answer : Do not leave it plugged in if your vehicle has the diagnostic port powered on even with key off.
  • Question : Will is run an ABS bleeder test?
    Answer : Currently, we do not support bidirectional communication and, hence, are unable to activate/control the ABS module.
  • Question : So the device is 100 and u have to buy more apps?
    Answer : The app for iPhone and Android is a free download and fully functional. You only need a smart device to use the device and view the results.
  • Question : Will the device display short term and long term fuel trim data?
    Answer : Yes, for certain vehicles, short term and long term fuel trim data can be viewed under Live Data. You can confirm this by visiting the FAQ section of our website.
  • Question : Does this support the Allison 1000 transmission, specifically 2005?
    Answer : BlueDriver works with all makes and models that are 1996 or newer, outside of this it supports any vehicle for which the user manual or the sticker in the engine bay indicates that it is OBD2-compliant. Enhanced diagnostics (including transmission) are currently supported for Ford, GM, Chrysler, and Toyota vehicles.
  • Question : When can we expect airbag features for European vehicles?
    Answer : We are still researching several manufacturers and prioritizing which ones to tackle next based on market share and demand. Toyota Enhanced diagnostics is next on the list.
  • Question : For whatever reason, my daytime running lights feature on my 04 bmws 745i needs to be reset a lot, (i think from the LED changeover) can I do that with this unit?
    Answer : You need to wire up load resistors for each DRL. BlueDriver does not support resetting the DRL feature.
  • Question : Will this clear a 2006 Jeep Commander service 4wd system code?
    Answer : Yes, as long as the service 4wd light is triggered by a code, BlueDriver will be able to read/clear it.
  • Question : Will this read ABS codes for a 2005 Honda Pilot?
    Answer : We do not currently support enhanced diagnostics (ABS, SRS, etc.) for Honda vehicles, but we plan on implementing this in the future.
  • Question : Is this item compatible with 1999 Fords 7.3l diesel?
    Answer : No. This vehicle is not supported by BlueDriver as it is a medium-duty vehicle that does not support OBD2 fully, which our sensor requires.

BlueDriver Code Readers & Scan Tools Editorial Review

The Blue Driver OBD-II scanner is a cheap but efficient device that helps diagnose issues in vehicles. It is compatible with any make or model sold in the US and Canada from 1996 or newer. Live data such as short term and long term fuel trim data can be viewed on certain vehicles. Enhanced diagnostics such as ABS are only supported for Ford, GM, Chrysler, and Toyota vehicles. It is also important to note that while the device advertises that it can read SRS and tire pressure monitor system codes, this is not supported on all vehicles. The Blue Driver also comes with a free app download for both Android and iPhone devices which is used to view results.
