    Answer : This will work on solid, uncoated brass -- test in an inconspicuous area first. Some 'antique brass' is simulated brass, and might just be deteriorating.

    Answer : Those wheels are clear coated, so use a paint polish instead, or our Plastic Polish.

    Answer : I assume for legal reasons the company would tell you not to. If it were me, I would have no issues using it and would feel safe. It doesn't have a bad stench like some polishes and it cleans off pretty easy. I would just give it a a good washing after. I did use it to shine up my old shower knobs that were spotted and green from being so old.
  • Question : Can you get same results by hand vs power tool for headlight restoration?
    Answer : Yes. I got good results on my 8 year old headlights but friends say I could get better results with a buffer. They have yet to show up with one and I'm not going to buy one.
  • Question : Can this be use for cleaning headlights lens on a car?
    Answer : In the YouTube videos I've watched it did a great job of polishing out the lens. Remember you need to re-apply a UV protectant to prevent yellowing after cleaning.
  • Question : Guessing this would be a good choice for gun polishing?? But I'm not sure any help would be appreciated

  • Question : Can this be used to polish the removable portion of our RV stovetop? There are also a few very small rust spots, will this clean that up?
    Answer : Not sure but I bet a wheel foam cleaner spray will work or wheel acid it removes service rust

    Answer : Although I cannot prove it, it seems that pumice and aluminum oxide may be the ingredients. I feel Pumice for sure.
  • Question : Can you use this on polished outer lips with clear coat?
    Answer : No, it is more aggressive than is ideal for clearcoated finishes. Instead use our #06208 Mothers Plastic Polish or #08208 PowerPlastic 4Lights -- these work excellent on clear and colored glossy wheel coatings.

Mothers Chrome & Metal Polishes Editorial Review

This product works well on solid, uncoated brass and is not recommended for use on clear-coated surfaces. It has been proven to work well for headlight restoration and gun polishing. The product includes pumice and possibly aluminum oxide, and has a poor design for its lid. Customers have had success with polishing their Harley motorcycles and cleaning up chrome rims on their vehicles. The product has received positive reviews, but some customers have expressed their preference for other metal cleaners. Overall, majority of customers have said that this product is effective in bringing out the shine in metals.
