It is effortless to move to different locations, simply loosen the clamp. The ball joint and stem are made of heavy-duty plastic and have no weakness. The product is not designed for car vents, and it is not recommended to modify it. The holder comes in a rectangle, and it has two pairs of holes that could fit a 4"x4". The clamp and ball system are attached to the mechanism that grasps the phone/tablet, and it is difficult to add an extension at that point. The Tackform holes are less than 4"x4". Overall the product has received mixed reviews with some customers finding it an excellent product and others finding it a waste of money, as it broke off the ball that attaches to the actual mount after eight months of use.
