MedVance TM Alginate – Calcium Alginate Dressing, 12" Rope, Box of 5 dressings

The product is a calcium Alginate dressing rope used for wound packing. It is not reusable and has an expiration date, each package comes with one 12" rope. The product is similar to Aquacel which is another alginate product used to absorb exudate. However, the product does not contain colloidal silver. The width of the rope is 0.75 inches and can be cut to fit the wound. It is not recommended for nosebleeds as it will not help to stop the bleeding, but it will absorb the blood. The customer reviews were mixed, with some customers finding it effective for wound packing, while some customers found the rope to be too small for wound covering, break apart easily or not absorbent enough.
