You could modify the main rules to accommodate team play of 5 v 5 with 2 spirits ( from the expansion ). That would probably be the best way to accommodate 12 people.

Stellar Factory Ravine is a highly entertaining, crafty and cooperative card game that requires teamwork to survive. It is designed for groups, but there is a two-player variant available on the Ravine website. For larger groups, it is possible to play with two copies of the game and an expansion pack. The spirit expansion pack is already available for purchase. Unfortunately, the game is not yet translated into Hebrew. The game has received mixed reviews due to some quality control issues with missing rescue cards. However, the seller has been prompt in addressing these issues and sending out missing cards.
