- Question : Do you have to treat food with it to administer or can I just treat the water directly?Answer : Use 1 level measure (included) to every 20 L (5 gallons). Repeat every 2 days until symptoms disappear or up to a maximum of 3 doses. Turn off UV, ozone, and chemical filtration. To feed, blend 1 measure with about 1 tablespoon of frozen food paste. To minimize loss during feeding use with Focus™. To enhance palatability use with GarlicGuard™ or Entice™. Food may be refrozen.
- Question : Does it kill beneficial bacteria or plants?Answer : In my experience, it does not kill beneficial bacteria or plants. I mixed it with frozen food, making a paste, and the fish ate it quickly. I never saw an increase in ammonia or nitrates, so I think my filter was fine -- as were my plants.
- Question : Is this enough to treat a 29g tank 3 times?Answer : Yes, I personally was able to treat my 55g tank with it at least three times.
- Question : What’s the difference between this version and the one that comes in a bundle for $13.95?Answer : Depends on the bundle. I’ve seen this packaged with 2 tubes of kanaplax and a bundle with 1 kanaplax and 1 metroplex

The Kanaplex is a kanamycin based medication that treats several fungal and bacterial fish diseases safely and effectively. It is best used for treating internal infections in fish that refuse food. The product can also be used in a medicated food mix for bacterial infections in tanks that contain invertebrates. The treatment period is one measure for every 20 litres of water every other day, up to a maximum of three doses. The product is suitable for use in freshwater or marine aquaria. However, it is not labelled for use on frogs and it can kill fish if not used correctly. Overall, the customers have had positive experiences with the Kanaplex, citing it as a lifesaver in some instances.
