- Question : Can the outside cover be removed, to further reduce weight?Answer : You could rip it off but its glued on and not meant to be taken on and off.

- Question : Do these flasks impart a flavor to spirits if left in for more than a few hours?Answer : I have had the opportunity you use my flask several time where I left Bourbon in it for over 24 hours and I did not notice any change in flavor.

- Question : Can you store this flask in the freezer?Answer : I have not although I'm sure you can considering it's made of Copolyester (flask) and Silicone (skin). My suggestion, buy a glass flask for storing in the freezer and transfer to the Boulder Flask for carrying.
- Question : Can this be used for hot coffee or tea? is it insulated? Will it deform from the heat? I am looking for a flask to hold liquids while hiking.Answer : No. This flask is designed primarily to store and carry adult beverages like Bourbon, or Scotch. There is no insulation to keep hot beverages warm.
- Question : will this item pass through a metal detector undetected?Answer : Probably, the only metal on it is the small pin that holds the lid on. Most stadium metal detectors that I've gone through are not set to be very sensitive. I can't imagine this setting them off.
