Question : Do you sell a smaller stay-wet palette?
Answer : The existing size is fairly small, not sure you would want a smaller one.
Question : What is the difference between this and polymer/synthetic paper?
Answer : Don't know cause I haven't used the polymer paper but I love this. Paint stays fresh for over a week.
Question : Can it be used without the matching palette?
Answer : This is a pad of acrylic paper to be used in a wet palette. Using the palette keeps the paper wet which prevents the acrylic paint from drying out.
Question : Can you buy the wet sponge for the palette?
Answer : Bought a plastic box where the paper would fit in. But a bunch of sponges on the bottom, topped with wet dishtowel, followed directions on paper, and voila, my paints lasted wet for two weeks if necessary. When finished for the day, I closed the box and put it in the refrigerator till ready to paint again. Hope this helps.
Question : Can you substitute Strathmore palette paper for Masterson Sta-Wet paper?
Answer : I've personally used palette paper in my Masterson Sta-Wet palette and had no problem. It keeps whatever you have in it well for days, and it fits in the freezer with oils in it. The lid fits tight, which keeps your paint well for as long as anything I've found.
Question : Is it non-toxic? Can it be used for makeup?
Answer : This is nothing more than a sheet of paper meant to be soaked in water and added to a wet palette container for painting. I suppose if you use paint for makeup...
Question : Can I buy the wet sponge for the palette?
Answer : All I use is a wet thin towel doubled up.
Question : Is this any different from regular palette paper or does it actually stay wet longer?
Answer : Yes, it is different! It's made to be kept in the Masterson Wet Palette because it keeps acrylic paints moist for days and days. Very good product which I use often.
Question : Is this the cellulose paper that comes with the Sta-Wet palette, or more similar to standard parchment paper?
Answer : It's a paper that must be put into water and squished until wet. The paper is reusable many times. I simply wipe off excess paint with paper towels. Then I run it under running water to get the rest of the paint off. There will be staining but it will not affect other paint on top of the stains. I let the paper dry as well as the sponge when not in use. The paper will warp but will lay flat again when wet again. I can use my paper up to 40-50 times if I am gentle. Tip: If you are going to keep it wet for several days, be sure to put copper pennies 1970 or before under the sponge to keep bacteria down that causes it to smell really bad and will never go away.
Question : How often do you re-use your palette paper? I find it gets too stained after a few uses.
Answer : I never reuse the paper. I store it in a sealed palette box on top of a wet sponge until it's too dry or painting is complete.
