- Question : Does this contain a sample of the pesticide pellets or do they need to be purchased separately?Answer : Due to the temperature sensitivity of the VetCaps they are sold Separately in 30 ct or 150 ct.
- Question : How close do you need to be to a cow and where do you shoot them?Answer : Approximately 10-15 feet works best. It is recommended to have the cows in a pen before starting. The VetCaps are shot onto the cow's back from the VetGun which is a precise applicator.
- Question : How many doses does a CO2 cartridge deliver?Answer : 25g cartridges will give about 25 shots, 90g about 80 shots, and the 14oz cylinder about 380 shots.
- Question : What is the caliber of the projectiles that can enter this thing?Answer : The projectiles are 68 caliber, like a standard paintball size.
- Question : Does it shoot a colorant on cattle to identify which have been treated?Answer : No, it dispenses clear VetCaps.
- Question : Will the vetcaps work in a regular paintball gun?Answer : No, the VetGun is designed for precise delivery of the VetCaps and is not calibrated for use with standard paintball guns.
- Question : Are you able to load these with snacks? Also, would it cause injury if it were shot at a person?Answer : No, the VetCaps are not designed for use with snacks. These are not toys and should be treated like guns. Never aim at a person and ensure the barrel is not directed towards people when using on cattle. It is also recommended to never walk with the barrel in a downward position as the capsule could fall out of the gun.

The VetGun is a precision applicator designed for the VetCaps which are sold separately, it works great to keep fly problems on cattle under control. It is easy to use and effective, however, it can be pricey Considering the additional purchase of cartridges. The product seems to have some recurrent issues with the CO2 canisters and the leakage of the capsules. Overall, the VetGun was rated highly for managing pests on livestock.
