Can this be mixed with alcohol for hand sanitizer?

Yes, this product can be mixed with 99% isopropyl alcohol, 95% or 75% ethanol to make hand sanitizer. Although shaking it up makes a very fine suspension, some organic plant matter or cellulose may not dissolve. Filtering the mixture through paper towels can be done to get a clear hand sanitizer.

Is it watery or does it have a thick consistency?

It has a gel-like consistency which is not as thick as store-bought brands but thicker than a watery solution.
