Has anyone else noticed that the planer gets very hot after a few minutes of use? And, is that normal?

I have not noticed that the planer gets hot. I have used it to plane down some pretty heavy 2 x 6 treated stock. However, I do have a 20 V DeWalt drill and my friend has one just like it. After just a little while, they get so hot on the butt end that you can’t keep your hand on there.
