It has 2 connectors on it, they go online between your bikes speed sending unit. No splicing required, plug and play. While it does fit so many bikes, you have to know the correct model, because they have different connectors.

Does anyone know if this will work on a yamaha smax (xc155). it's one of the few bikes that's not listed.

SpeedoDRD model Y1 will fit, but any adjustment made to decrease the speedometer will increase the RPM because of the CVT transmission. Another solution is SpeedoDRD model U1 installed behind the gauge cluster, which will not affect the RPM of the CVT.
