- Question : Can you start the cooker without the lid? Can this be used to cook hot pot?Answer : Yes you can cook without the lid, and I frequently do because when I cook oats it will bubble over if I use the lid and cause a mess.
- Question : Does it support 220 watts?Answer : The three cup model consumes 300 watts, the five cup model 400 watts, and the eight cup model 500 watts. But I suspect you are actually asking about the voltage? In which case no, it does not use 220 VAC, It uses 110 VAC.
- Question : Does the cover/lid stay moist/watery even the rice cool down?Answer : From my usage I find that whatever 'watery' accumulation appears it slides back into the pot with the rice. Even when I remove the cover to stir I just set the cover temporarily aside. No problem with any excess water.
- Question : Does this have a steamee basketAnswer : No, It didn't come with a steam basket, just the spoon and measuring cup.
- Question : Wondering what size to get. If I get the 8-cup size (because once in a while I need that), will it handle smaller amounts of rice well?Answer : You can make up to 8 cups of rice maximum. Which means you can make any amount below the 8 cups without a problem. The rice and water amount will be included on a chart in the instructions manual.
- Question : Does this rice cooker cook brown rice?Answer : I think it can cook all rice.
- Question : Is the pot and lid dishwasher safe?Answer : One should never put nonstick pots and pans in the dishwasher as this will eventually damage the nonstick coating. Always wash pots and pans by hand. Also, some coatings when worn off or scratched will expose one to poisons, so don't put them in the dishwasher. Sorry, but you want those things to last.
- Question : How long does it take to cook white rice in this rice cooker?Answer : Depends on the quantity of white rice you will be cooking. This cup measurement is based on the measuring cup included with the rice cooker. RICE----COOK TIME 2 cups- 15-19 minutes 4 cups- 20-22 minutes 6 cups- 24-25 minutes 8 cups- 30-33 minutes
- Question : Does the bottom of the rice turn brownies when cook?Answer : Yes, the bottom of the rice does turn brown and get hard after it cooks.
