- Question : What devices can I connect to these speakers?Answer : You can connect an iPhone, Android, Tablet, PC, or Mac.
- Question : What is the size of the bass and tweeter?Answer : The bass is 4 inches and the tweeter is 13mm.
- Question : What inputs does it have for connection?Answer : It has optical and coaxial inputs for lossless connection.
- Question : How are these speakers powered? Do they each need to be plugged into a 110v outlet?Answer : One of the speakers needs to be plugged into an outlet. That speaker is powered and has a built-in amplifier to drive the speakers. No need for a receiver or amplifier. Just plug directly into your source.
- Question : How do these compare to the r1280t? Are they the same, just with extra bluetooth connection, or is the sound quality different?Answer : I've been trying to get a straight answer about this from Edifier for a week, to no avail. Either the specs are wrong or Edifier doesn't know their product very well, and it seems they won't give a straight answer about it. It would be a better business move to just own up to the mistake and correct it. It's difficult to trust a company with your hard-earned money when they behave this way.
- Question : So if I connect with Bluetooth, audio will come from both speakers?Answer : Bluetooth audio does indeed play on both speakers.
- Question : How many Bluetooth devices will it keep memory of?Answer : Speakers don’t hold memory of devices. Devices remember the Bluetooth they’re connecting to. This question is backwards and not how Bluetooth works.
- Question : Can I connect a tuner to these speakers?Answer : You technically can, however since these are powered speakers you run the risk of exceeding the rms power ratings for the speakers if it is a powered tuner. If you do you should be careful to turn the volume on the tuner to a low volume.
- Question : How long is the cable that connects the 3 speakers together?Answer : There are only two speakers and the cable is short, around 3 feet only.
- Question : Will i be able to use an optical and rca input without switching?Answer : Hello Jared, You will need to switch inputs.
- Question : I want to place these speakers 16 feet apart. Will The included cable work, do I need to buy a specific cable or simple speaker wire?Answer : No, the speaker wire included is only 8 feet long so you'd need to buy some simple speaker wire.
- Question : I have the 1280db and they don't reproduce highs properly. even if i crank up the treble to max, its almost like hardly anything changes at all.Answer : The problem is in the mid-highs (centering around 3.5kHz, being a crossover problem); these speakers reproduce highs just fine, and the treble control has plenty of range but is useless to fix the lower mid-high problem. You apparently don't hear this because of diminished high-frequency hearing. But these speakers have a terrible frequency response and I wrote a detailed 2-star review as a result. They are most definitely not 'studio monitors' as advertised!
