There are two metal rectanguar rings that the straps go through that allow you to cinch the mat when it is rolled up.

Will the carrier open when left on the ground?

No it doesn’t open when placed on the ground/floor. You have to physically loosen the strap to remove the mat. Enjoy!

Does it have an adjustment to change the shoulder strap length?

Yes, it cinches around whatever size item you may have. However, there is no further adjustment for the part of the strap that goes over your shoulder.

It’s suppose to be genuine! The issue is not about that but it is very thin and slippery if you sweat. It may require a towel on top. I will never buy one again. Sorry Manduka🙁!

Just pull open the ends. Slide the buckles back.

Can you take it as a carry on item on an aircraft?

Yes you can. This is a strap....like the ones on a bag.

Is this a good mat for outdoor use?

This product is the strap, not the mat. It is strapped around the mat and used to carry it. I do have a Manduka mat, and mine is heavy and thick, which is great for outdoor use. I suggest you look at the Manduka mats and see which one suits your purposes best. They have mats in different lengths and thickness.

Can this be used with my Manduka ProLite?

I'm sure it can. It's super adjustable. I love how easy it goes on and off. My only gripe is the strap falls off very easily especially if you stand the rolled up mat on it's end.
