How does this one compare to Mypurmist inhaler?

Haven't used the MABIS and was looking into it but I can tell you I've also had (3) Purmist Units within the last 4 years and they ALL failed within 6 months of usage. The worst part of Purmist is that they cost over $150 and up for each unit...absolute trash, poorly designed - they don't last. Don't bother with Purmist, but I've heard with their new My Purmist design people have reported that the new redesign doesn't break down as easy as the old versions, but here's the catch, with the new models you have to buy their specially formulated packets which are only additional revenue for the company. For the price of one MABIS I would say you're far likely to come out ahead even if the unit broke, since it won't break the bank.

How do I make the steam work?

Did you put water in the correct place? It is very important to read the manual, although a little confusing about where to add inhalants if using. And make sure not to put the measuring 'cup' in the spout where the steam comes out or remember to remove it if that's where you store it.

Can you add medicine to the water?

This is a vaporizer not a nebulizer. Only water is meant to be used with this product. Please contact the manufacturer regarding adding anything to the water - Briggs HealthCare: 1-800-526-4753

Can this be used the same way that a nebulizer is used?

No, it will not work the same as a nebulizer.

I am pretty sure this unit operates at 120 Volt at 60 Hz AC power, i.e. a standard wall outlet. So I would expect you will need a step down transformer assuming you are living in Europe or Asia with 240 Volt AC wall power.

How often can you use this product safely? If you use essential oils, how many drops do you put in?

Since nobody answered I'll tell you in an essential oil diffuser you usually put 3-6 drops in the water. So, maybe this one can take the same amount of drops. Idk

Is the mask washable so my family can also use it?

Yes, the mask is washable. It is plastic and comes apart from the unit for separate washing.

I bought this and used a few times. But the chamber got melted. Now I don't have the plastic cup to pour a few drops of oil.

Exactly the same happened to me. Very cheap plastic for the chamber. To avoid that, you have to clean and dry it after each use. I left it filled overnight and it melted badly.
