- Question : Does it work on synthetic leather?Answer : No, it will not work on man-made leather.
- Question : Why does it have an ashy metallic sheen? And is there a way to get rid of that?Answer : The metallic sheen may occur if you dab on the dye with a sponge. To avoid it, rub the dye on instead of dabbing.
- Question : Will it dye 24" x 24"?Answer : Yes, it should be able to cover 24" x 24".
- Question : Do you need to prep the leather first?Answer : Not necessarily. It depends on the finish you are trying to achieve. Clean old leather of any debris.
- Question : Can this be used on buffalo leather?Answer : It can be used, but make sure to spot test first as not all leather is created equal.
- Question : Can I dye black leather brown?Answer : No, with leather dye you cannot dye from a darker color to a lighter color. You would need leather paint for that.
- Question : Will this work on artificial leather such as found in office furniture?Answer : Doubtful. Most synthetics like vinyl are either impervious to dye or take it inconsistently.
- Question : Can a leather cap that has one ring of white leather piping trim around it be dyed black?Answer : If it is leather, then yes, it will dye everything including the white leather piping trim.
- Question : Is this good on a leather couch? Does it rub off?Answer : It worked well on a faded leather couch, turning it into a nice mahogany color. It did not rub off.
