I wasn’t able to use this repair kit at all! Suggest not wasting your money on this kit!!!
- Question : If the oil pan thread is stripped and the bolt size is 12mm 1.5 do I use this or a size higher like 14mm 1.5?Answer : This thread repair kit will get you back to the 12mm x1.5 size so you can use a factory or stock drain plug. Shouldn't have to use a larger repair kit unless at some point a “oversized” drain plug had been installed in your oil pan.
- Question : Do you have inserts for 8 mm?Answer : They were all the same size and would not work !!!
- Question : What is the hex key for?Answer : The hex key (Allen wrench) is to adjust the collar on the incursion tool,to set the depth of the helicoil.
