Customer Questions & Answers

  • Question : What rifles does it fit?
Answer : It fits most newer CVA ramrods 2010 and newer, including the ACCURA, OPTIMA, and WOLF 2010+.
  • Question : Is it easy to install?
Answer : Yes, it screws onto CVA ramrods 2014 and newer and is simple to install.
  • Question : What is it made of?
Answer : The Palm Saver knob is constructed of a high-density polymer.
  • Question : Will it fit a Thompson Center encore or Thompson center FX pro hunter ramrod?
Answer : Not sure, I bought that rod to replace one I damaged on my optima.
  • Question : How can I get the brass threaded piece?
Answer : It should be on your push rod.
  • Question : Does it come with the brass piece or is it only the plastic end?
Answer : It is just the plastic, the brass should be the end of your rod.
  • Question : How long is the knob?
Answer : Fits under the barrel with no issues when firing the weapon.
  • Question : Does this come with the male threads to screw into the rod or are you using the existing from the ramrod?
Answer : It has female threads. The ram rod screws into it.
  • Question : How far will it go down inside the barrel?
Answer : The palm save doesn't go down the barrel any, it screws on the push rod. It should change the depth that the push rod goes down the barrel.
  • Question : Does it fit the replacement ram rods for cva wolf?
Answer : If your new replacement ram rod has threads, I feel it should work. My friend has a CVA muzzleloader but it was missing this palm attachment and I ordered this and worked perfectly.
  • Question : What fitting size does this have to attach? 10-32?
Answer : Fits the factory ram rod on a CVA, not sure on thread size though.
  • Question : Will this fit a traditions ramrod? I know it's for CVA but maybe the threads fit mine?
Answer : Probably universal threading, so I assume it would work on yours.

Connecticut Valley Arms Gunsmithing Tools Editorial Review

Connecticut Valley Arms CVA Palmsaver Attachment Knob The Connecticut Valley Arms CVA Palmsaver Attachment Knob is a plastic attachment that can be screwed onto the end of a CVA ramrod to provide a comfortable and secure grip. It is designed to fit the factory ramrod of a CVA but may also work with other ramrods with similar threading. Customers have had mixed experiences with this product. Some have found that it did not fit their ramrod or was too small compared to the original attachment, while others have praised it for being a hand-saving invention that works great. One customer pointed out that the description suggests it fits 2010 and up ramrods, but upon reading further, it is specified to fit 2014 and up ramrods. Overall, if you own a CVA muzzleloader and are in need of a palmsaver attachment, this product is worth Considering, but be aware that it may not fit all ramrods.

Pros

  • Provides a comfortable and secure grip
  • Works with some CVA and potentially other ramrods
  • A hand-saving invention

Cons

  • May not fit all ramrods
  • Some customers found it to be smaller than the original attachment
  • Expensive for a piece of plastic according to one customer review
