The Siglent Technologies SDS1202X-E oscilloscope is a reliable and user-friendly device that comes with 2 probes, although users can choose to use any probe they wish. It has an excellent support system on the manufacturer's website and a quick and easy update process using a USB drive. The SDS1202X-E is not designed for use as a spectrum analyzer inside its bandwidth. The main differences between the SDS1102X and SDS1202X-E are the bandwidth and screen size - the E version has a 200 MHz bandwidth and a slightly faster processor. The fan is almost silent and doesn't cause irritation while in use, and it comes with the right plug for an AC power source, so novices can connect it directly to 110V AC. The SDS1202X-E also has its drawbacks. While it works better than expected at high frequencies, it's not very precise, and the 14 Mpts memory can be limiting in certain conditions. The x10 switch on the probe is sensitive to the touch and can make the signal bumpy. Channel 1 produces a lot of noise, while channel 2 is okay, and single-channel noise seems to be a common complaint among users. A user suggested that the 200MHz probes that come with the oscilloscope should be used as standard probes.
