It has adhesive tape on both ends to attach to the desk, which holds strong. The clamp raises the acrylic off the countertop by about half an inch. Although it is a metal bracket, it is unclear whether it is fire resistant or not. Overall, customers like this product as it holds plexiglass securely, and they have used it for various applications. It works very well for larger pieces of plexiglass and on conference tables too. The brackets were long enough to support the plexiglass, and they did not have to use any adhesive to secure the brackets to the piano. On the downside, it may not work well for partitions with slots, and some customers feel they may need a taller attachment.
