- Question : Is the valve normally open or closed? That is, when power is lost while it is open will it stay open or close?Answer : Normally closed, opens when power is applied, if power is interrupted the valve will close.
- Question : Is it possible to purchase directly 1-inch fpt valve with solenoid for battery operated timer instead of 24v?Answer : I did this with 12volt lipo battery. Works great for a few hours.
- Question : Does anyone know the max rated PSI for this?Answer : The maximum pressure rating for the valve is 150 psi, though you should be aware that most sprinkler heads do not function well at pressures that high. Pop-up spray heads work best around 30 PSI, rotor (a.k.a. gear drive) sprinklers at 45-55 PSI, and impact heads at about 40 PSI. If you have pressure over 100 PSI, we would recommend you consider also getting a pressure regulator that will make your sprinklers heads function more optimally.
- Question : Is the valve always open and when you put power to it does it closes or is it the other way aroundAnswer : The valve remains closed until it receives 24 volts. Rare to be problematic. The celluloid is weak link.
- Question : What is the width of the valve, end to end where the pipes screw in? Need to see if it will fit between existing inlet/outlet pipesAnswer : 4-3/8"
