It will be sitting in my car in high levels of humidity for long periods of time, will it rust easily?Answer : No. The metal is coated with exception to the edge but mine has 0 rust on it. At present, I have one that lives outdoors in my barn and has done so for over a year. I just wipe and dry on my shirt after use. No oil or nothing. I live in FL so this thing has had its share of humidity exposure :)

- Question : What is the difference between the HRT and the Truckers friend?.Answer : The tools are identical, except for the following. The Trucker's Friend has a V notch on the top (which makes it easier to remove nails) while in the HRT (Handy Rescue Tool) we omit the V notch, and have substituted a reinforced pry bar. The HRT also features a gas cutoff wrench opening in the face of the blade.
- Question : The description says says it’s 21” long but, the photos show it as 18” so which is it?Answer : The answer is, 18 1/4 inch long. Keep in mind that this is a breaching tool not an ax, it is made to get you out of a burning building breaking glass smashing a wall, see it as a tool that a fireman would use in case of an emergency. You can buy a very nice sheath for it that protects the edge of the tool, pick up for about 20 bucks well worth it.
- Question : Should the blade be reasonably sharp? Mine seems to be really dull.Answer : Keep in mind most fire axes are designed for smashing not chopping. These are not for cutting wood. Now you can sharpen this using a flat bastard file but the sharper a blade is the more likely it is to chip and break. Keep in mind what makes an edge sharp is the super thin characteristic and thus the blade will be more fragile.
