The pattern is cute and easy to follow, and there's plenty of thread to take creative liberty. The kit is perfect for beginners, and the instructions on how to do different stitches are clear and easy to follow. However, some found the instructions to be limited, especially for a beginners' kit. The pattern is printed on a heavy canvas fabric, which may be difficult to get the needle in and out. You will need a thimble for sure, and if you have arthritis, it may be a slow finish. One customer reported that the thread frays easily, making it difficult to get started. However, another customer found it easy to get the hang of it pretty quickly. There were mixed reviews about the colors of the threads sent with the kit. Some found that the color of the thread sent with the kit is not the color shown in the picture. A customer was expecting red mushrooms, but the color sent is orange. The kit looks like Halloween colors with lots of orange tones and gold, etc. Some customers found that the instructions were limited and not comprehensive for the kit.
