Kasa Smart Outlet Switches Editorial Review
The Kasa Outdoor Smart Plug is a Wi-Fi outlet with two sockets that is compatible with Alexa, Google Home and IFTTT. It is ETL certified, and has an IP64 weather resistance rating. It can only be connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, and the plug must be hung vertically with the outlets facing downwards, at a minimum height of 8 inches from the ground for proper waterproofing. Customers have found it easy to set up and use, with the Kasa app being simple to use and syncing seamlessly with Google Assistant. It has been used for landscape lighting, patio party lights, yard displays at Christmas, and even with a Green Egg. The signal reception has been impressive, with one customer installing it inside a metal exterior wiring box for a clean look and still having a strong signal. It is a big improvement over timer and remote control outdoor plugs.
