- Question : How long should this take to clean a 5 gallon tank with green cloudy water?Answer : If you are running the light 24hrs a day, I would say a few days. I had it on for 24rs a day for about a week and a half for my 20 gallon tank with lime green water. At the end of the week and a half period my tank was crystal clear. Hope this helps!
- Question : What are the actual precise dimensions of the bulb, or the widest part on the bulb and socket? Was thinking of using it to sanitize a tube!Answer : The bulb is 1in wide and 3in long, if you need to sterilize the tube, be careful not to put the controller in it because the controller is not waterproof.
- Question : Is the bulb replaceable?Answer : It is not. Doesn't last long either.
- Question : Will this raise the temperature of a 3 gallon tank?Answer : The light will generate some heat, but will not change the water temperature much.
- Question : How do you use this with a canister filter like a fluval 207?Answer : Friend, Fluval UVC Clarifer or similar, bring the adapters to place it in your aquarium are in the market for this type of external filter. I would not recommend small that I have, since by inserting it in yours you could break the power cable, since it is hermetic... and you could not place it directly in the aquarium because it would kill your fish.
- Question : Why after 5 days is the bulb dimmer and the red light flashing near where the light options are?Answer : When connecting it flashes in 24 hours (it is paused there, it always will). when moving to the hours you need (3/6/12/24) the red light will stay fixed and turn on the bulb. It will turn off by itself and the red light will flash again (it will be paused for 24 hours) and then turn on again at the same time for the time you placed it. In my case, as you could see crystal clear water, I place it 3 hours a day and it stays. Of course, in the same way, I do weekly water changes and so on, I hope it helps you.
- Question : Will this clear up a 75 gallon tank?Answer : Not sure my tank it 30 But I would get next size up.
- Question : Will this work with an outlet timer? Does it turn on auto? Or do I need to push a button every time?Answer : You can select 3, 6, 12, or 24hour timer. Which will run that amount of time every day if you select one of those options. It turns on and off automatically.
