- Question : I was hoping these came with some instructions. how do i use these to remove small c-clips? i don't understand how this tool helps with that.Answer : Basically you pick the tool that is one size smaller than the C-clip. Using that tool, you push on the C-clip to pop it out by facing the “C” of the e-clip to the “C” of the tool. So it would look like a “C” facing a backwards “C”.
- Question : The sizes mentioned (1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 mm) are inner or outer diameter of e-clips?Answer : Inner,the tool got me out of a jamb,I was unable to get the ex clip back on my chainsaw after I removed it,this tool made it easy.
- Question : Is this tool magnetic? Does it hold the clip securely?Answer : The tool is steel so yes it is magnetic but not for the reason you mean. The c clip is held securely by virtue of its shape and the corresponding shape of the individual tool. If you use stainless c clips then clearly the tool being magnetic is irrelevant.
- Question : Will this work for ⅛ c clips?Answer : IT works in my pistols, air guns and other small items. A small knitting needle (not metal would also help). BTW you might want to put some painters tape close to where you will be rubbing the tool against the gun.
