These fenders are covered with a nylon canvas-like material which prevents rubbing and will not leave marks or streaks on a white hull like rubber bumpers. With a size of 30" long, 6" wide, and 4" deep, they work well with boats with higher freeboard. Although there is only a top grommet, they work well to protect the top side of the boat as well as the sides. They have been reviewed to have saved boats from bad boaters' waves at a marina dock. While other boats were scratched up and round bumpers were found around the dock and boat motion, these stayed in place and provided adequate protection. They attach easily with a loop for the cleat and they stay in place nicely, given the right length is provided with the hanging mechanism.
