This publication is a collection of Hawthorne's stories and is regarded as a useful anthology. There are 20 separate stories of excellent quality included, by one of America's most accomplished writers. The title story, "Young Goodman Brown," is perhaps the best example of Hawthorne's famous short stories. His descriptions are heavily descriptive, his imagery inescapable, and his social commentary quick of wit not very accepting of hypocrisy. The book is recommended to all readers of classic American fiction, especially those who love Hawthorne.
