This 5-liter glass jar has a good seal and closure, making it air-tight as long as the rubber gasket is in place. It is also watertight, but not recommended for fermenting in sizes larger than 50 ounces, according to the manufacturer. It is dishwasher safe and good quality, with a sturdy metal frame. It has been used for storing flour, weed, making vanilla extract, and fermenting sauerkraut and cabbage.
