What size tree does this fit?

The finished size is around 40” in diameter. The opening that goes around the trunk would fit an 8-10 foot tree.

I'm struggling to understand the instructions. Are there any other instructions available?

I am a very experienced sewer but I think there is also a video by Shabby Fabrics. Try their website and tutorials.

Are you able to make it larger in diameter?

No. The limitation is the diameter of the tree skirt which is printed on the batting.

How accurate is the template compared to the batting size?

We have found it to be very accurate.

Number of fabrics needed?

If you make the pattern as shown, it does take 4 green, 4 red, and 4 pieces of white fabric. You can't see the other white wedges as they are behind the tree. It takes a total of twelve wedges to make the pattern as shown.

Anyone have an estimate of how much total yardage they used, please?

If you make the tree skirt as pictured the pattern says: 1/2 yard of 4-6 fabrics, 1 1/4 yards backing, and 2/3 yard for binding. I haven't made it yet but will be using the printed pellon for a bargello tree skirt.
