The handle is supposed to be Titanium. The blade does look like true damascus with a core, but I have no way to test if it is VG10.

Is there a way to tighten the assisted open?

These knives use a ball bearing pivot system. Use canned air to blow out any debris in the pivot bolt areas and then add a drop of your favorite household oil.
