How many beer/soda cans will fit?

Hi Muriel, you can stack 15 per shelf for a total of 45 cans! I sell sodas at our dance (have a 15 piece swing band) so have 2 racks! One thing you will have to do if you order them, is to file down the sharp edges on each shelf or like me, you will get a soda bath. One last note, I do not use the wire separators, they are more of a hassle than they are of use!

With the top row full of 12 cans (veggies) what is the base to top of can height? I only have 13 1/2 from bottom of cabinet to top of shelf.

The organizer is 13" at its highest point and with my fattest can, the height to the top of the can is 13 3/8". I think this will work for you and you will love them.

Would this work well in pantry with wire shelving?

I use this on my wire shelving and it works perfectly! The wires on the bottom of this unit run north to south (front to back), making it very sturdy.

Will this hold a small 3oz can of cat food?

It will hold any can you want it to. It does not save any space but it does let one see what you have and keeps can organized.

How do you load new cans? Do you take out the cans in a row to get the new cans to the back, or can you load then from the back?

You can do it either way. You can load from the front and push cans back or load from the back and let them roll.

Does this rack actually have the fine wire in it?

Not so fine that it bends easily. I have had no issues.

Do the cans at the back roll when you pick the one in front?

Yes, they roll toward the front. It really helps keep the pantry organized and know when I need to restock something!
