Question : What is the difference between Zingo Word Builder game and ThinkFun's What's Gnu game?
Answer : I don't have the game What's Gnu. Based upon the description, they seem very similar. The different seems to be that Zingo Word Builder has three words per card and is played more like a challenge game. What's Gnu seems to be true world building, card by card. I purchased Zingo because I have multiple Zingo games in my classroom. Once the students learned to play one game, they could easily figure out how to play Zingo 1-2-3, Word Builder, Sight Word, etc. Hope this helps.
Question : Since there are images on the tiles, would you say that this game will help little ones learn to read words? I'm afraid they'll just stick to the image
Answer : Yes, seeing the letters and the picture does help little children learn to read words. You can reinforce the letter-word association by quickly reviewing each tile after the game has ended. Cover either the photo or the letters and ask the child to identify what is covered, but don't let this review detract from the fun of the game. If you take a peek at alphabet books for little children, you will see a picture that begins with the letter on that particular page, helping the child learn the sounds of letters.
Question : How many words are included? And how many tiles?
Answer : Hello. There are 24 sight words and 72 tiles. Thank you.
Question : What's the difference between the 'Bingo with a zing' and 'Zingo word builder' versions?
Answer : There is not too much difference.
Question : What is the difference between this one and the discontinued one?
Answer : I believe they are the same, just different packaging.
Question : What do you do if more than one person has the match for the tile on their card?
Answer : It goes to the person who calls it first. If it is a tie, the dealer places the tile back into the Zinger. Hope that helps!
Question : Can both Zingo versions be played simultaneously? Older child playing the addition card and younger the counting?
Answer : No
Question : Would this be too easy for my 7yo first grader who is testing in reading right at where he should be?
Answer : It’s a fun game for all ages! It’s really fun for beginner game players too😄
Question : Does this assist with as a 'blending word' activity?
Answer : We used it as letter recognition and sounding out words. Beginning words that you use to start to read.
