- Question : Will this work with 4mm paracord?Answer : I think you may be able to fit the paracord through it. If it fits, it will hold it. You may want to look further, I believe these come in more than one size. The company is responsive to emails, so you can always ask, but I think it will work with the item size your are looking at, since your question came my way.
- Question : Can I use these like pullies to hang a kayak from garage ceiling?Answer : It really depends on the weight of the kayak. One of these at each end of a poly kayak would probably hold (25# load at each end), if you do the lifting and let these do the holding. The line you use would need to be ‘real’ 550 paracord, tho. Even then, it’s all subject to deterioration over time. Wouldn’t park anything I cared for under it. Suggest to use metal pulleys and steel cable (3/16”), available at a local home hardware store. Don’t underestimate weight over time. Plan for 2 to 3 times the weight.

- Question : I will be using this as a clothesline tightener. Will these rust over time from the elements?Answer : Unfortunately Yes, the stainless steel “gates” can eventually rust over long periods of exposure to the outside elements.
- Question : Has anyone used these to help secure a sun shade sail? And if so how well did it stand up to wind and the elements?Answer : Your sun shade will break before the camjam does. These are awesome!

The Nite Ize NCJ-01-4R3 CamJam Tightener Plastic Tie Down Mechanism is a set of 4 black tie downs. The dimensions of each CamJam Tightener is 1.36" x 2.63" x 0.59" and it can fit cord sizes from 1/16-Inch to 3/16-Inch. The product does not come with a cord but Nite Ize does sell cords that are very strong. A customer has tested and found that the tie downs are capable to hold #36 tarred Bank Line. Some customers use it to attach all manner of things to a pack frame for work. The CamJam Tighteners are practical, easy to use and are recommended. However, over time they might not work as well and might need to be replaced. It is not suggested to use it to hold a hammock for sleeping. The product is a bit pricey but it is a good product to have if you like to use paracord.
