This product is a Diuron 80 DF, used for the control of algae and aquatic weeds in ponds and dugouts with little or no water flow-through. The lower recommended rates control algae for several weeks; higher use rates extend algae control and usually control aquatic weeds such as naiads, pondweed, duckweed, bladderwort, and Chara. It should not be used in flowing water or for algae control; using it in sections is recommended to kill weeds and diminish the oxygen level in the pond, and grass carp, koi, and catfish may work better for pond maintenance. Some customers find it effective but have suggestions on how much to use (varying from a full bag to a half a bag depending on the pond size) and how to apply it (mixing it with water and a wetting agent). One user reported a fine for selling it to someone in Michigan, where it is a Restricted Use Product.

Pros

Effective at controlling algae and aquatic weeds in ponds and dugouts with little or no water flow-through.

Cons

Cannot be shipped to certain states, including MI, where it is a Restricted Use Product. Should be used in sections and not applied for algae control. May not be the best option for long-term pond maintenance.
