folds flat just like the large plastic banquet tables then folds in half and snaps closed- legs fit snuggly inside the frame of table probably no more than 5-6 or so inches when folded in half. Benches are individual too they also fold in half. We really like the set, we have them leaned up against the wall in our garage always handy but out of the way I loaned them out so I can't go out and measure them right now hope this was helpful we have put them in the trunk of our car fits easily
