- CALLING IN THE GNOMES: Twelve of the Queen's most priced treasures have been stolen! The thief was last seen running through the castle's stone maze, dropping objects in his haste to get away. It's up to the Gnomes to find the treasures and return them to the Queen before morning. Can you help?
- THE MAZES: The maze paths are different on each side of the board. You may move your mover only along the paths on your side of the board. You cannot move your mover through a wall in the maze, but the player on the other side of the board CAN move your mover through walls. That's how you can help each other reach a treasure!
- TOYS THAT TEACH: Gnomes at Night is a great way to develop effective communication skills. Players race to identify the treasure as shown on the card to determine which side of the board that treasure is located on. Players work together maneuvering through the maze, sometimes you will be able to move easily toward the treasure, sometimes you will need to back track. Using descriptive language like left, right, up and down will help your teammate better assist you in collecting that treasure.

There are two cards with different colored gems on them, and each of the object cards has gems in the corner. When your gem color comes up on an object card, you control the gnome. The players must talk to each other and work together, it is a great game. It has different levels of difficulty, and the cards rotate so the game is never the same twice in a row.

- Question : What happens after the mazes are solved? Why would a child want to play again?Answer : They would want to play again because they cannot see the maze so it's hard to learn. They rely on the other child to tell them where to go.
- Question : Would this be too simple for an 11-year-old? I'm trying to find more cooperative games that he would enjoy.Answer : No, it shouldn't be too simple. We got it for a 9-year-old and once she learned the rules, she loved it. The game boards go from easy to hard, and can be changed and turned to make the game a little different each time you play. Because the game requires cooperation both players must work together and communicate to finish. He can play with friends of different ages by choosing which level of board to use. I highly recommend this game. It is fantastic.
- Question : Is it possible to buy replacement gnomes? It's such a fun game, but of course, my 5yo immediately lost the pieces...Answer : We have several Peaceable Kingdom games (my family LOVES them) and I believe they offer free replacement of pieces. I would look in the box for more info.
