While rivers and fish-bearing waters are generally safe, it is recommended to filter and, if necessary, boil the water before drinking. Avoid water sources with a foul smell or presence of corpses. If in doubt, boil the water.
- Question : Does it filter out chemicals?Answer : No, it does not. Portable filtration units, including the Sawyer filter, cannot remove chemicals in field conditions. Please refer to the Sawyer website FAQs for more information.
