- Question : How many fish does this roughly feed for a weekend?Answer : I have a 55 gallon tank with around 150 Trout Fry in my classroom. I have the feeder set automatically to feed my fish three times a day every day.
- Question : How long can you leave an automatic feederAnswer : It depends on many factors.1. How many fish/aquatic pets you have 2. How big your tank is 3. How big your fish/aquatic pets are 4. How often you’ll feed them 5. How much you’ll feed them at any given time 6. How much food you load into the feeder
- Question : Can it work on an outdoor pond?Answer : If you do as Wanda suggested, yes. Protect it from rain.
- Question : Is this good for Red Eared slider turtle feeding? We use thin long pellets.Answer : Can you break up the pellets into shorter pieces? The opening of the feeder might not let enough food drop through if they are so long that they won’t fit. In my experience, tiny round pellets for small fish or bigger flakes can be easily adjusted with the setting. Larger pellets will work, probably no problem, just has to be tested according to your needs. Still the best feeder I have ever tried.
- Question : Is there any way to set this up for my turtle if I have a mesh top on the tank?Answer : If the food will fit through the mesh, then it should be no problem. If not you would have to cut a rectangular strip hole as the drum rotates, it drops food, so I would say the the hole would need to be 1" x 4".
- Question : How long will it feed if i set it on a twice a day feeding?Answer : Ive been feeding twice daily at 3 barrel rotations per feeding for 3 weeks and the barrel isnt yet half, so i guess a long time would be the answer
- Question : Does it come with a velcro adhesive?Answer : It do
- Question : does it have an internal fan like the other brands to keep the food dry?Answer : Not to my knowledge food stays dry anyway
- Question : Under each time setting for a feeding. For example 7 o’clock the next option is a setting to choose 1, 2, or 3. What is tha? Can you explain in detailAnswer : That is to select the number of rotations the feeder makes at your programmed time. For the large pellets I feed my turtles, I keep the adjustable door all the way open and have the feeder rotate twice to feed the right amount.
- Question : Can this feed glow fishes?Answer : As far as I know it will feed any kind of fish. You can use flake, small or large pellet food in it, and it will feed automatically for whatever time(s) are set into it. I’ve been using it with flake food for my tropical fish (fresh water) for about 9 months now, without a single issue.
